An unplanned power outage at a Taiwan plant halted semiconductor production in the region

What happened now? On Thursday, Taiwan’s state-run power plant, Xingda, experienced a power outage that affected much of the island’s residents and businesses. This caused power cuts and power outages across the country and affected several regions where Taiwanese semiconductor manufacturers are located. TSMC is currently evaluating the impact after observing a 400 to 1000 ms voltage dip in some locations. Xingda factory managed Thaipower , supplies about one-seventh of Taiwan’s electricity.
