Nio, a Chinese electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer, announced on Saturday that it has halted manufacturing after the country’s response to the recent COVID-19 outbreak hampered operations at its suppliers. “The company’s supplier partners in various places, including Jilin, Shanghai, and Jiangsu, have ceased production one after the other due to epidemic-related reasons and have yet to recover,” the company noted on its mobile app. “As a result of this, Nio has had to put a halt to automobile manufacturing.” The company will postpone EV deliveries to customers and will work with suppliers to resume delivery while adhering to the government’s...
