Chinese social media users mock Japan and celebrate Abe’s assassination

By Harold Hutchison, DCNF Users on Chinese social media sites celebrated the fatal shooting of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe Friday, according to multiple reports. A Weibo post saying “Let the celebration begin!” after Abe’s death received over 150,000 likes in a half hour, according to Bloomberg News, while another post that said that Abe could atone for Japan’s 1937 invasion of China by dying got over 210,000 likes.
