TRANSSION Holdings, a Shenzhen-based smartphone manufacturer, led the African smartphone market in the second quarter of 2022, with a combined unit share of 48%, according to a new study by a global research firm. International Data Corp. (IDC) said Transsion, which manufactures Tecno, Infinix and Itel brands, outpaced Samsung, which had a unit share of 25.8%. The second-placed Samsung recorded an 11.3% quarter-on-quarter decline in shipments.
