A total of 120 distressed overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) were repatriated from Laos, Myanmar, and Cambodia following a coordinated anti-trafficking operation in the Mekong River region, the Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking (IACAT) said Monday. The group of OFWs arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA). The operation, which involved multiple government agencies, is being hailed as a major success in the country’s ongoing fight against human trafficking and illegal recruitment.
