In just a period of two weeks in May, the network shared more then 2.5 million scam messages directly to Android users. Furthermore, Android users also warned about 55,000 of these text scams over that same two week window. While Google has not been able to obtain exact data on financial damages, it has been confirmed that hundreds of thousands of users have been scammed out of millions of dollars in the United States.
