China-based Unitree, a major player in the robotics industry, is poised to debut on Shanghai's STAR Market, sparking excitement for future robotics listings in Asia. The company successfully raised $900 million through its IPO, pricing shares at 150.80 yuan each and achieving a valuation of $9.1 billion. Retail investors showed overwhelming interest, with over 9.8 million orders received and the offering oversubscribed by a staggering 5,500 times.

Unitree's IPO milestone serves as a crucial benchmark for the A-share market, particularly in the realms of embodied AI and humanoid robotics. Morningstar analyst Kangyuxiao Li emphasized the significance of this event in defining the valuation landscape. According to industry experts, Unitree stands out as the global leader in humanoid-robot shipments, holding a notable 37% market share in 2025.

Jacqueline Du, head of China Industrial Technology research at Goldman Sachs, lauded Unitree's dominance in the industry. Despite the competitive nature of the market, Unitree surpassed Western competitors by a significant margin in terms of robot shipments. The company's IPO not only offers mainland investors direct exposure to a key player in China's robotics sector but also sets the stage for potential listings by other domestic rivals.

As Unitree gears up for its trading debut on the STAR Board, analysts project a market cap of CNY61 billion, reflecting a strong market sentiment. UBS analyst Tony Chalmers highlighted the anticipation surrounding Unitree's opening performance, with the grey market indicating a potential 3.5x increase. The company's strategic pricing advantage, rooted in China's robust supply-chain infrastructure, positions it favorably in the global market, offering a range of robots at competitive prices compared to Western counterparts.
