P-Com, a provider of broadband wireless access products and services to carriers, commercial enterprises and government agencies, today announced the formation of a joint venture with Nanjing Putian, one of China's manufacturers and suppliers of telecom equipment.

The joint venture, called Beijing P-Com Broadband Wireless Communications, will market P-Com's licensed and unlicensed products to mobile carriers and corporate customers in China. The joint venture will begin operations upon approval of the joint venture by the Chinese authorities.

Nanjing Putian, a subsidiary of China Putian, has relationships with China Mobile and China Unicom as well as China Rail, China Netcom and Great Wall, large corporate customers operating within the country. The joint venture is an expansion of P-Com's existing sales efforts in China, where it has been marketing its wireless broadband products for more than 10 years.
