Continuous Computing, global provider of high availability platform solutions that enable telecom equipment manufacturers to rapidly deploy converged communications, announced that Datang Mobile has selected Trillium SS7 and ATM offerings from Continuous Computing as essential elements to deliver TD-SCDMA Radio Network Solutions into the Chinese market.

"China's 3G Wireless market is expanding quickly, and Continuous Computing's newly established Shanghai office allows us to meet the product and service requirements of our Chinese customers," said Ken Kalb, Chairman, CEO & co-founder of Continuous Computing. "Particularly in the rapidly-growing Chinese telecom market, delivering a time-to-market advantage is key to establishing a competitive industry presence. Continuous Computing provides that advantage to Datang Mobile, a driver and early adopter of emerging TD-SCDMA standards."

By incorporating products from Continuous Computing, Datang Mobile's solution will allow for more efficient use of the wireless spectrum and will enable carriers to deploy Radio Network Controller (RNC) and Node B network elements for innovative 3G Wireless services.

Ratified just this year, TD-SCDMA is a key 3G Wireless technology sponsored by the Chinese government for delivering advanced data and multimedia services. It is one of three 3G technologies, including W-CDMA/3GSM and CDMA-2000, which will be considered by the Chinese government when licensing 3G Wireless spectrum for network deployment in China. Datang Mobile relies on Continuous Computing to supply the key standards-compliant elements necessary to deliver these W-CDMA and TD-SCDMA solutions either separately or within the same Radio Access Network (RAN) infrastructure.

Datang Mobile approached Continuous Computing to select technologies that would enable them to meet their schedule, performance and quality objectives for standards-compliant RNC and Node B solutions. The partnership with Datang Mobile validates Continuous Computing as a supplier of high availability carrier-class solutions for telecom equipment manufacturers globally.
