Chinese bike sharing platform Mobike announced its entry into the Italian market with Florence and Milan as its first stops.

With this move, Italy becomes the first country in Continental Europe to introduce Mobike. Meanwhile, it is Mobike's fourth overseas market following Singapore, UK, and Japan.

Hu Weiwei, founder and president of Mobike, said that they are very glad to enter the Italian market and especially honored to start operation in Florence and Milan. They will cooperate with local partners to provide smooth riding experience to citizens and tourists in the two cities to help them feel the beauty of the cities.

Mobike will first place hundreds of smart shared bikes in Florence for trial operation. With a discounted price of EUR0.3 for half an hour, users can try those bikes and offer feedback. At the beginning of August 2017, Mobike will start official operation in Florence and Milan and will place about 4,000 bikes in each city.

Statistics provided by Mobike show that to date, Mobike has placed more than six million smart shared bikes in over 150 cities of five countries around the world. The company has over 100 million registered users and provides over 25 million riding services on a daily basis.
