According to reports in foreign media, South Korea's Samsung recently revealed that its Chinese mobile phone factory in Huizhou, Guangdong stopped production at the end of September 2019.
The Huizhou factory is reportedly Samsung's last mobile phone factory in China. In June 2019, media reports said that Samsung started employee layoff in Huizhou plant and planned to shut down the factory in September 2019.
Samsung said that it is a difficult decision to close their last mobile phone factory in China; however, this move aims to improve efficiency.
Samsung previously had three mobile phone manufacturing factories in China. The company already closed its factories in Shenzhen and Tianjin in 2018.
At present, Samsung's smartphone market share in China is only 1%; and its market share was 15% in 2013.
