Envada Claims First 3G Mobile Phone License

Taiwanese-funded Envada (Shanghai) Electronics Company says it has obtained the first 3G mobile phone license in the Chinese mainland from the State Development and Reform Commission.

Sina.com has reported this news, but mobile phone manufacturers like ZTE and Huawei find the information "unbelievable".

But according to Envada's spokesperson Qin Wenjiang, the comnpany started the 3G license application in March and both the State Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Information Industry have confirmed the company's development work.
