China's Ministry of Commerce has published its ranking of high technology development zones in China in the "2005 Development Evaluation Report on State Level Economic and Technological Development Zones in China".

The Tianjin Economic-Technological Development Area tops the ranking of all 53 Economic and Technological Development Zones for the eighth consecutive year with a score of 708.7, 105.9 points higher than the second placed zone.

The report looked at overall economic power, human resource management, technologically innovative environment and system construction of the different zones around China.
