China Southern Airlines Selling 500,000 E-Tickets Each Month

China Southern Airlines (ZNH) says in March 2006, it sold more than 600,000 tickets, generating more than US$41 million.

In January 2006, the airline sold approximately 500,000 e-tickets, generating more than US$50 million and in February it sold almost 400,000 tickets, generating more than US$31 million.

In 2000, China Southern became the first Chinese airliner to sell e-ticket. Since its launch in 2000, the company has sold more than 16 million e-tickets, accounting for more than US$1.2 billion in Internet sales.

China Southern says that at least 20% of its total sales come from Internet sales.
