95001000, the Real Name China Telephone Exchange, has formally launched in China.

By calling 95001000, users who know the name of a company can speak directly to the company after being transferred by the operator at 95001000.

Different from 114 that offers a telephone number inquiry service, 95001000 focus on the businesses that it serves.

Companies pay CNY500-CNY5000 each year to their appointed value-added service providers, but they do not have to pay for the calling fees. There are ten value-added service providers scattered around China, including Tian Xia Hu Lian and Hong Lian Jiu Wu.

Lu Yang from the Ministry of Information Industry tells local media that is a good business model for Chinese telecom companies to shift their role from a traditional telephone service provider to the role of information service provider.
