Huawei Wins CDMA Deal From American Company

China's telecom equipment manufacturer Huawei has signed a CDMA2000 contract with American mobile service provider Leap Wireless.

According to the agreement, Huawei will deploy CDMA 3G network for Leap Wireless's wholly-owned subsidiaries Cricket Communications and Denali Spectrum in selected cities in the United States. This is the second time that Huawei has won Leap Wireless's 3G deal. At the beginning of this year, Huawei cooperated with Leap Wireless for the first time and laid out CDMA 3G network for the latter in northwestern regions of the United States including Washington State, Idaho, and Nevada.

Huawei has not disclosed the sum of money involved in this contract.

Huawei has made many breakthroughs on the 3G market recently. Following the signing of a 3G expansion contract with Vodafone from Spain, it entered another contract with Italian telecom company Telecom Italia SPA on Monday.
Huawei's data shows the company has had more than 100 million CDMA network clients across the world and has signed 47 commercial-use EV-DO contracts on a global basis.
