Following a cooperation agreement reached with China's CCTV, AMD (AMD) has now entered into another agreement with China Unicom (CHU), one of the biggest mobile service providers in China.

The two sides have announced to make use of each of their respective technology and resources to provide AMD technology-based China Unicom data value-added service solutions to medium and small enterprises and to carry out close cooperation on promotion and marketing.

AMD will provide hardware testing platforms and technology and software testing support to China Unicom. In the meantime, it will coordinate with OEM partners to promote the AMD technology-based China Unicom value-added service solutions.

Guo Kezun, AMD Greater China general manager, has told local media that AMD is pleased to enter this strategic cooperation with China Unicom, the only operator that has a whole-service license in China and one of the largest CDMA operators in the world. Li Zhengmao, vice president of China Unicom, reportedly spoke highly of AMD's pioneering solutions. Li said that the cooperation between the two industry powers will benefit more medium and small enterprises and hence promote China's informationization goals.
