Chinese Mobile Phone Manufacturers Fighting Counterfeits

Illegal mobile phones are seriously undermining the interests of legally registered mobile phone manufacturers in China.

In the first half of this year, Sohu.com reports the sales volume of illegal mobile phones reached 23.34 million in China, accounting for more than 25% of the country's total mobile phone sales.

Both mobile phone enterprises and government departments have begun to take actions to combat the black market mobile phone producers and sellers. CECT CEO Li Dewei has told local media that based on the production and sales patterns of illegal mobile phone manufacturers, CECT is working to report all available information to the government supervision departments, providing clues on various fake mobile phones vendors.

Zhu Xiaofeng from BenQ China says that mobile phone enterprises are now focusing more on improving the techniques and quality of their products in a bid to make them unique and difficult to copy.
