Internet

Qihoo 360 has announced that its pop-up blocker, which can automatically close pop-up windows of desktop software, is undergoing a small beta test.

The pop-up blocker will be able to block most of the pop-up windows of Internet desktop software, including the daily focus of Microsoft's MSN, the daily focus of Skype and its pop-up windows at the lower right corner of the desktop, the hint information of BitComet at the lower right corner and the pop-up windows of PPLive at the lower right corner, covering IM tools, P2P download software and audio and video software.

According to Qihoo, all the testing activities of Qihoo 360's products will be opened to the steering committee first, so people who have joined the committee will have the priority to try this pop-up blocker.

Software providers use these pop-ups to release news or spread advertising. For example, the pop-up windows of QQ client software are the important channels for Tencent's information dissemination.
