The article has been republished by a large number of websites, and the level of feedback from netizens has been considerable. Some feel that Netease POPO's behavior is a result of a lack of self-discipline and management, while others are calling on all netizens to unite when their interests are harmed.

Lawyers have suggested that the government develop a set of stringent guidelines on the management and control of websites, severely punishing those who break their word. Currently China's consumer laws are being tested in the courts as more people are suing companies and local governments.
