During the first half of 2016, China Telecom's operating revenue reached CNY176.82 billion, a year-on-year increase of 7.2%; while its net profit reached CNY11.673 billion, a year-on-year increase of 6.3%.
At the same time, China Telecom reported service revenue of CNY155.222 billion, a year-on-year increase of 5.6%; its earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization were CNY50.555 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 0.4%; its capital expense was CNY40.7 billion; and its free cash flow was CNY6.1 billion.
Compared with the end of 2015, China Telecom's mobile users saw a net increase of 9.04 million to 207 million during the first half of 2016 and its market share reached 15.9%. According to China Telecom, its 4G device users reached 90.1 million and its market share was 15.2%; the monthly average traffic used by its 4G users was 889MB and its total mobile Internet traffic increased by 135% year-on-year; and its mobile Internet revenue increased by 42% year-on-year and accounted for 47% of its total mobile service revenue.
For cable broadband service, China Telecom had 118 million users by the end of the reporting period, a net increase of 4.94 million compared with the end of 2015. Of which, FTTH users reached 88.34 million, accounting for 75% of the total and it represented an increase of 12 percentage points compared with the end of 2015.
In addition, China Telecom's IPTV service reported 50.16 million users and its payment service had over eight million active users by the end of June 2016.
