Vendors Refuse Tsinghua Unisplendour CNY3999 Laptop Computer

Because of the small profit margins, Tsinghua Unisplendour is having trouble getting vendors and distributors to sell its new low-priced laptop computer.

Unisplendour released its T910D laptop computer last month with a retail price of CNY3999–the cheapest computer the company has ever launched. However, because of the small profit (CNY100-200 per computer), local media report that some dealers have refused to sell the computer.

The T910D's basic settings include Intel's Celeron-M processor C-M350, 1.3GHz main frequency and a 14-inch screen.

Unisplendour had planned to make money from servicing the machines, but now this seems unlikely and the company may soon withdraw the computers from the market.
