GreenNet Picks Mindspeed For VOIP

Mindspeed Technologies, Inc., a supplier of semiconductor solutions for network infrastructure applications, recently announced that GreenNet Technologies Co. Ltd. has chosen Mindspeed's Miro communications convergence processor for its EZVoice 8000 Trunking Gateway products and Mindspeed's Chagall voice-over-packet (VoP) silicon PBX (private branch exchange) for its EZVoice 6032 Access Gateway products.

GreenNet's networking solutions enable telecom carriers and enterprises throughout China to increase network capacity and improve communications performance. The company is a leading network infrastructure solutions provider, with a broad offering of carrier networking solutions. Current EZVoice 8000 and EZVoice 6032 field trials include installations at tier-one companies including China Netcom, China Railcom, China Telecom and Jiangsu GuangDian.

The GreenNet EZVoice 8000 is designed to handle 960 voice over IP (VoIP) channels by utilizing Miro processors. The Miro M82610 combines fifth-generation DSP cores with a programmable packet processor, representing a true system-on-chip solution for VoIP and VoATM (Voice over ATM) applications. EZVoice 8000 utilizes a 19-inch standardized frame structure and is designed completely on carrier-class standards. It provides up to 32 configurable E1 interfaces with redundancy and hot swap features to deliver industry-leading reliability. EZVoice 6032 uses a single-chip Chagall M82520 to support 32 channels of simple/complex voice traffic, with integrated SLIC/SLACs to enable connection of up to 32 analog phones. Chagall combines digital signal and packet processing capabilities with a soft encryption engine and a programmable high performance embedded host controller.
