Chinese Vice Premier Huang Ju recently urged the country's information technology professionals to seize the current strategic opportunity to vigorously develop the country's information industry.
Huang, also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, made the remark when visiting "2003 China International Telecommunications Equipment, Technology Exhibition" in Beijing Friday night.
In the future, China's information sector should continue to introduce and absorb advanced information technology from overseas, while vigorously enhancing its own research and development ability, he said, continuing that the Chinese government would support some promising domestic information enterprises to expand themselves amid intensive international competition.
