Telecom Communications, Inc. announced today that TCOM has entered a marketing agreement with FilmFestivals Entertainment Group (FFEG), a French corporation with headquarters in Paris.
Under the agreement, TCOM will remarket FFEG's licensed entertainment content to its user base of 10 million and 300 service providers. Contractually, TCOM can earn revenues based on a per-message basis, as the Chinese annually transmit text messages exceeding 100 billion.
Commenting on the partnership, Mr. Zhengbin Liu, Vice President in Business Development of TCOM said: "We are in a rapid growth model in our SMS and MMS business and extending our content offering is one of major goals in 2004 to achieve substantial growth. FFEG hosts the number one portal site for international film festivals and film news. With over 255 million users, China has the world's largest mobile phone ownership. These subscribers sent over ten billion messages on the recent New Year's Day alone. In 2003, China's mobile phone users transmitted over 100 billion text messages, an astounding 10,000 per cent growth since 2000. We believe this new content offering will add one more substantial revenue stream for us."
