'Telecommunications Law' To Be Approved In March

The long-anticipated 'Telecommunications Law', the first of its kind in China, is being discussed amongst the relevant government departments and major telecommunication operators and will be submitted to the State Council for review and approval in March.

According to the Ministry of Information Industry, the new law will focus on standardizing interlinking and intercommunication and will impose severe penalties upon those who break the law by setting obstacles to or damaging intercommunication intentionally.
