China Promotes Digital Cable TV

Liu Yunshan, head of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, commented that China will promote digital cable TV, during a meeting held in Qingdao.

The development of digital cable TV "will be conducive to the country's information industry and economic growth and enrich people's lives," he said. Liu stated that the government is intending to join hands with enterprises and the market to promote the new technology, building the facilities, developing software and regulating the industry.
