Phillips Continues To Enter China DVD Market

July 22, 2004
Gadgets & Electronics

According to the local media, Mr. Huang Ruiren, general manager of the Film & Video Department of Phillip in China, has stated that Phillips is holding firm to the belief that DVDs will be more successful than EVD.

This year, Phillips will launch a number of DVD home appliance products, attaching more importance to the DVD family consumption market. Philips forecast $12 billion in sales revenue in China before 2006. This huge profit margin is the reason why Phillips has given up OEM and taken action toward brand protection as most Phillips products in the market are counterfeit.
