Linktone (Nasdaq: LTON) today announced the appointment of Mr. Mingjie Guan as its senior vice president of Sales and Corporate Development. Unlike it's mobile competitors in China, Linktone so far has been able to remain clear of government sanctions and suspensions, and it appears to now have redoubled its sales efforts to pick up business left empty by the suspended companies.
In his new capacity, Guan will lead Linktone's overall sales efforts and spearhead corporate development initiatives. His primary responsibilities include crafting territory-specific sales and marketing strategies to meet revenue and profit targets; working closely with operators to enhance service offerings and customer satisfaction; and exploring, analyzing and developing new business opportunities for Linktone's growth.
Guan has over 15 years of telecommunications experience in China. He has previously worked with technology companies such as Aspire Technologies, Datacraft Asia, and CacheFlow.
In recent weeks, many companies like Sohu and Sina have received hefty fines and suspensions by China Mobile, and those companies can not seek new mobile channels to grow their revenue. However unlike Sohu and Sina, who both have diversified product portfolios, Linktone relies only on mobile value-added services. Because of its sharp focus in the mobile sector, Linktone appears ready to take advantage of the void now open in the market.
