General Components Will Provide VoIP System To China Railcom

General Components has entered into an agreement with Beijing CVC Communications Co., Ltd., a major local system contractor, to provide to China Railcom, in a pilot program, over 3,000 lines of General Components' VoIP enterprise system.

In addition to standard telephone features, this system contains Internet Protocol PBX and advanced conferencing. General Components (GCI) will be providing Internet Protocol soft-switch, billing software and technical engineering support for the system.

Similar to its other broadband products, GCI's enterprise VoIP systems are marketed, licensed and distributed under GCI's brands and trademarks. GCI is currently providing solutions to small-medium enterprises (SME), large corporations and special interest groups.

China Railways Communications (Railcom) is the newest member of national operators in China. Railcom operates the third largest fixed telecom network in China. Its networks cover more than 300 local networks with 143,000 optical trunk lines and 3,600 kms of microwave range.
