Automatic Data Processing (ADP) announced that it has opened its first representative office in China.

ADP's Employer Services (ES) Division, a leading provider of HR, payroll and benefit administration solutions, officially opened the representative office in Shanghai on January 9, 2006.

"We are committed to expanding our global presence to serve the needs of multinational and international companies," said Gary Butler, ADP's President and Chief Operating Officer. "China is the most important developing market in the world and a key growth opportunity for ADP."

ADP ES, serving more than 50 million employees worldwide and paying 32 million people in 26 countries, will provide support for global and multi-national clients on its GlobalView payroll and HRIS platform. GlobalView is the first global payroll and HRIS platform delivered as single solution across multiple countries for large global and multi-national companies.

The ADP Shanghai Representative office will eventually include staff and activity for the Dealer and Claims Services Divisions, which already have a strong global presence. ADP Dealer Services provides integrated computing solutions to more than 25,000 auto, truck, motorcycle, marine and recreational vehicle dealers in approximately 40 countries.

ADP Claims Services provides automated vehicle damage estimating and management services to clients in 25 countries.

Kathryn Amooi, an ADP veteran of more than 23 years, is the new Managing Director and Chief Representative of ADP China LLC Shanghai Representative Office and will be responsible for all ADP business activity in China reporting to Stoeckert.
