Net.cn Gains China's First IDC License

February 21, 2006
Internet

The Ministry of Information Industry (MII) has issued the first "trans-regional value-added telecom service operation license" to Net.cn, the largest domain name registration and website hosting service provider in China.

This marks a beginning of MII's efforts on purifying the Chinese website hosting market, which in the words of MII, is "out of order".

Net.cn says that with the new license it will be able to offer consumers a better service for hosting of domain names and websites.
