Tietong Deploys Caspian In High Speed Network Backbone

July 25, 2006
Telecom & Wireless

IP and MPLS network provider Caspian announced that China Tietong has deployed Caspian A120 Media Controllers in its high speed network backbone.

With the Caspian solution, Caspian says China Tietong will realize significant improvements with network efficiencies and Internet access, resulting in higher quality multimedia experiences for its subscriber base.

With increasing demand for its services, China Tietong is in the process of rebuilding, expanding and upgrading its backbone and transmission networks. As part of this rebuilding process, Caspian Media Controllers with OC-48 and Gigabit Ethernet connections were selected as a cost effective solution to improve the quality of China Tietong's IP service offerings and network operations.

China Tietong offers a full suite of value-added and basic telecommunications services across China, including virtual private networks (VPNs), domestic/international voice, data, image, and multimedia communications. The Caspian Media Controllers, with Flow-State QoS and Caspian NetMoxie management software, enable China Tietong to dynamically identify and control different types of traffic on its network.

"As we continue to upgrade and expand our network, it is vital that we have visibility and control of that network," said Mr. Gao, general manager for China Tietong's Internet Business Department. "Caspian's innovative traffic management capabilities provide us with the ability to better manage our diverse traffic types and ensure that our users receive equitable, high quality service levels. We also found the Caspian Media Controllers easy to install and deploy in our network."
