Chinese Telecoms Working On Network Information Security

China Telecom (CHA), China Netcom (CN), China Unicom (CHU) and China Mobile (CHA), the four major telecom operators in China, say that they will send their representatives to attend the Telecomsec 2006 Conference in Beijing.

The Conference takes place on November 22-23 and the telecoms will give lectures on network safety management.
With the ties between network security and telecom services becoming closer, more operators have realized the importance of telecom network security to their service. So far, more than 400 professionals from the telecom network information security management sector and professional security sector have registered to take part in the event.

Telecomsec 2006, which is organized under the direction of the Telecommunications Bureau of the Ministry of Information and the Public Information Network Security Inspection Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security and co-hosted by China Mobile, China Telecom, China Netcom, China Tietong and China Satcom, is expected to serve as a window for professionals and users to learn how telecom security managers work to ensure that users get safe, stable and quality network service.

A number of telecom solution providers, including Huawei, Juniper (JNPR), and Nokia (NOK), have been invited to join the event.
