ImmenStar has announced expansion of its R&D facility in Shanghai.
The company's fully integrated next generation xPON chipsets offering Network-on-a-Chip functionality, will become the nucleus of a range of high-bandwidth, low-cost optical network products being developed by Chinese based equipment manufacturers.
ImmenStar's imminent dual mode G/EPON chipset will enable local manufacturers like ZTE, Huawei and others to reduce their product development lead-times and transitioning of end-to-end optical service offerings, by now being able to build one product for global markets.
John Wuu, ImmenStar President and CEO, says, "Leveraging the highly talented engineers available in China has been instrumental in our ability to provide local world class customer support as well as to design and bring to market industry first, fiber-to-everywhere switch chipset solutions well ahead of our competitors. By the end of 2006 we will have doubled our Shanghai based R&D and support teams and by the end of 2007 our Shanghai base will be larger than our US operation."
ImmenStar says it is committed to working closely with global equipment manufacturers and service providers to deliver market-leading EPON and GPON based products and services.
