International WiMax manufacturer Alvarion has signed a strategic agreement with Digital China, making the company its first mainland China agent.

A representative from Digital China has told local media that their cooperation mainly focuses on video monitors and applications and they may renew their cooperation when China's policy on WiMax is clarified. Alvarion has laid down some foundation in China's WiMax market with 80% of the more than 150 WiMax base stations in downtown Beijing already using Alvarion's products.

With more than 2 million units deployed in 130 countries, Alvarion is a worldwide leader in wireless broadband providing systems to carriers, ISPs and private network operators, and in full GSM and CDMA specialized network solutions.
