Sun Pishu, president of Inspur, told media at a press conference that Inspur is trying businesses related to semiconductor and is striving to gain the government's support for entering the semiconductor manufacturing industry.

Sun said that their application had been accepted by China's National Development and Reform Commission and the business is expected to be taken up with each of the three parties of the national government, Shandong Provincial Government and Inspur investing one-third of the funds.

Inspur will mainly deal with 12-inch semiconductor products after it enters the industry.
