Tencent Will Manage New American Online Game In China

U.S.-based online video game developer Riot Games has signed an international licensing partnership with Tencent.

"We are excited to bring League of Legends to the Chinese market," stated Mark Ren, executive vice president of Tencent. "With the passionate creative talent behind one of the most popular mods of all time that is extremely popular in China, DotA-Allstars, League of Legends is sure to capture the attention of a Chinese gaming audience."

Tencent will distribute Riot's first title under development, "League of Legends: Clash of Fates", to Tencent's users through its QQ Game portal. League of Legends is an online multiplayer session-based game that combines elements of role-playing and strategy genres with battle action bringing accessible, replayable and competitive gameplay into a whimsical universe that deepens with the player's commitment.
