Nokia Siemens Networks, the international telecommunications hardware, software, and services company, has announced that it will deploy an IP Multimedia Subsystem core platform for China Mobile to offer IMS-based multimedia application services to the enterprise customers of this Chinese telecom operator.
China Mobile has selected Nokia Siemens Networks to implement its IMS core platform, hiQ MMTel application server and Session Border Controller to introduce this converged communications experience aimed at improving end-user satisfaction. China Mobile's corporate customers in Beijing, Yunnan, Xinjiang, Jiangxi, Hunan, and Fujian will soon be able to enjoy a wide range of IMS-based applications.
Ding Weiqing, head of the China Mobile customer business team at Nokia Siemens Networks, told local media that today's users demand seamless access to multimedia applications without being constrained by the devices or network they are using. Nokia Siemens Networks' IMS platform will enable China Mobile to quickly launch services that are independent of access infrastructure, devices and network. This will help the operator to capture new business and increase customer loyalty. It will also help the network operator to become a stronger player in the fast evolving fixed-mobile convergence market.
Nokia Siemens Networks' IMS platform is an open platform that meets the 3rd Generation Partnership Project standard. It enables the fast and efficient deployment of converged multimedia applications for telecom operators. The platform is compatible with multimedia applications offered by Nokia Siemens Networks and other manufacturers, thus allowing the telecom operators to efficiently widen their service ranges, attract new users, and tap into new revenues.
