Sales of Apple's tablet computer product iPad with the Wi-Fi function will start sales in the Chinese mainland market from September 17, 2010.
Starting at 10:00, the Wi-Fi version iPad will be available in Apple's specialty stores and its authorized retailers on the Chinese mainland, including Best Buy's seven stores in Shanghai, Hangzhou, and Suzhou.
The iPads sold on Chinese mainland will have three versions, including the 16GB version with the retail price of CNY3,988; the 32GB version with the retail price of CNY4,788; and the 64GB version with the retail price of CNY5,588. Due to the popularity of the products, no reservation or group buying services will be offered, and only one iPad can reportedly be purchased by an individual customer.
Apple's iPad was first launched in the United States on April 3, 2010. At present, the products have already been sold to many countries and regions, including Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, the United States, Austria, Belgium, Hong Kong, Ireland, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, and Singapore.
