China Postal Express & Logistics Company Limited announced that they have reached a full strategic cooperation with the Chinese Internet giant Tencent for China Postal's EMS service.
With the deal, the two parties will use their respective advantages in Internet, finance, technology, logistics, and omline sectors to jointly promote the transformation and upgrade of the traditional express delivery industry and clear the barriers among delivery companies, couriers, and users.
EMS' delivery fee payments will connect to WeChat and mobile QQ online payment services in the future. In addition, EMS will realize smart receiving and delivery of goods for the first time so online users can buy products online and ship them around the world.
Zhang Wei, general manager for Tencent's Internet Plus strategic cooperation, said that with Tencent's active exploration in the Internet Plus sector and their leading social networking platforms such as WeChat and mobile QQ, Tencent hopes to inject Internet Plus and social genes into EMS and bring more vitality to the traditional express delivery industry to provide highly personalized, intelligent, and socialized delivery experience to users.
Financial terms of the arrangement were not released by either party.
