Chinese telecom device maker Huawei has signed agreements with Chronocam, Secure-IC, and Siradel during a supplier conference in Paris.
Huawei will cooperate with Chronocam to develop technologies similar to Face ID used on Apple's iPhone X. Founded in 2014 and headquartered in Paris, Chronocam specializes in computer vision. The company is committed to the development of new visual sensors and systems and applies them in various sectors of machine vision.
In October 2016, Chronocam completed its series B round financing of USD15 million, which was led by Intel Capital and participated by iBionext, Robert Bosch Venture Capital, GmbH, and 360 Capital.
By cooperating with Secure-IC, Huawei aims to improve the security of its Kirin chipsets. Based on the partnership with Siradel, a 3D geospatial software company, Huawei will implement 3D map drawing projects.
Over the past four years, Huawei's procurements from French suppliers has reportedly doubled, so these new deals in France will help the company settle better into the market.
Financial terms of the three deals were not released.
