Chinese artificial intelligence platform company SenseTime reached strategic cooperation with Abu Dhabi Investment Office and the two parties will set up an artificial intelligence research and development center in Abu Dhabi before the end of 2019.

This AI R&D center will reportedly focus on AI technologies for several different industries, including medical, remote sensing, and education.

Meanwhile, SenseTime established an office in the EMEA region for the first time. The company will implement fast localization to provide customized product solutions to local customers, so as to promote the overseas expansion of Chinese original AI technologies.

It is said that the distribution in EMEA is an important link for SenseTime's global development strategy.

Xu Li, co-founder and CEO of SenseTime, said that the business development in Abu Dhabi will further accelerate SenseTime's original AI technology progress and iteration and enhance worldwide AI application development. The Abu Dhabi AI R&D center will help SenseTime enhance its innovation ability in key areas, develop new customers, and attract more excellent talents.
