According to reports in foreign media, Chinese smartphone brand Oppo announced that its manufacturing plant in India's Greater Noida has successfully completed its first-phase plan and the company plans to enlarge the production capacity of this plant to double its output by 2020.
Currently, Oppo's Greater Noida plant can produce four million smartphones on a monthly basis. If its output was doubled by 2020, the company would be able to make over 90 million smartphones per year.
At present, the Greater Noida plant has about 10,000 employees and by 2020, it will have over 15,000 employees. The plant is located in an industrial area of 110 acres.
Oppo's product and marketing vice president Sumit Walia said that the Greater Noida plant is Oppo's firm commitment to India and it is a successful example of the "made in India" program. With the increase of production and future export, they dream to make India the global smartphone export center.
