According to reports in foreign media, Chinese Internet giant Alibaba Group has agreed to invest in Perfect, an augmented reality start-up in Taiwan.
It is said that Alibaba will lead the new round financing of Perfect. Meanwhile, Chinese mainland venture capital CCV and Taiwan's Cyberlink also participated in this round.
Perfect also announced that the company formed a strategic partnership with Alibaba and will introduce its AR technologies into Alibaba's online platforms.
Based on the cooperation agreement signed by the two parties, Alibaba will use Perfect's YouCam virtual makeup technology when selling products like lipstick and eyeliner on Taobao and Tmall, allowing users to try the products before purchasing.
Alice Chang, founder of Perfect, said in a statement that the cooperation will help Perfect build cooperation with global brands and enter the Chinese mainland beauty and cosmetics market.
