According to reports in Chinese local media, Chongqing government recently signed a comprehensive strategic cooperation agreement with Alibaba Group and Ant Financial Group.

With the agreement, Chongqing will continue to support Alibaba's investment and business layout in the city. Meanwhile, Alibaba will help Chongqing realize digital and intelligent transformation.

Alibaba will also build its regional headquarter base in Chongqing to promote the establishment of its customer experience center, Freshhema supply chain operating center, and Alibaba China intelligent logistics backbone node in the city.

By the end of June 2019, Alipay had served over ten million users in Chongqing and Alibaba's MYbank had provided inclusive financial supports to hundreds of thousands of micro enterprises and entrepreneur in Chongqing.

From January to June 2019, Chongqing's 13 poverty counties achieved sales of nearly CNY1 billion on Alibaba's platforms. By the end of 2018, Alibaba's Chinese retail platform had brought 150,000 jobs to Chongqing directly.
