Chinese ride-sharing platform Didi Chuxing announced to start formal operation in Costa Rica on November 19, 2019 and the company's business covers main cities like San Jose.
Costa Rica is the first Central American country to have Didi Chuxing service and it is also the fifth Latin American country following Brazil, Mexico, Chile and Colombia.
According to Didi Chuxing's head of Costa Rica business, they had gained over 5,000 registered drivers over four weeks' recruitment. To ensure safe operation, Didi Chuxing opened round-the-clock hotlines in Costa Rica, making it the only ride-sharing platform that provides this service in the country.
It is said that Didi Chuxing upgraded its organizational structure in Latin America in the second half of 2019. The company encourages local talent cultivating in Brazil and Mexico to support its operation in Costa Rica.
Didi Chuxing achieved a rapid development since its entry into the Latin American market and it has become an important mobile transportation platform in this region.
