P / CLOUDY Mercedes-Benz got rid of a video ad from a Chinese social media website, the country’s state media said, after the clip faded into a national debate loaded with depictions of Asian-looking features through foreign companies. The video was posted Saturday on Mercedes-Benz’s official Weibo account and then deleted due to public love at first sight, the Communist Party’s Global Times newspaper reported. “The makeup of the female model looked like bridle eyes and once back provoked a heated discussion among netizens. and many accuse the composition of reflecting Western stereotypes about Asians,” the paper said on Tuesday....
