Chinese scientists have created what they call a “human-brain-scale artificial intelligence model” based on one of their latest supercomputers powered by Sunway processors. The scientists say the 174 trillion parameter AI model can be used for applications ranging from autonomous vehicles to scientific research. The Sunway OceanLight system used is based on 96,000 nodes running on 390-core Sunway SW39010 APUs, with a total of almost 40 million cores. This machine was advertised as one of the world’s first exascale supercomputers.
