Chinese social media mocks Japan and celebrates Abe’s murder

By Harold Hutchison, DCNF Users of Chinese social media sites celebrated the fatal shooting of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on Friday, according to several reports. A Weibo message that says “Let the party begin!”after Abe’s death, he earned more than 150,000 likes in part of an hour, according to Bloomberg News, while the article saying Abe could atone for the Japanese invasion of China in 1937 by dying received more than 210,000 likes. A 41-year-old man reportedly used a homemade gun to shoot the former minister twice as Abe gave a speech about the crusade in Nara. —...
